The Antelope Valley Fair recognizes the needs of guests with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. We strive to comply with the Act’s regulations and remain committed to ensuring that the patrons’ experience on the fairgrounds is an accessible one for guests with disabilities or special needs. From both operational and facilities standpoints, we continue to fine-tune this commitment so that the facility is accessible to all of our guests.
The Antelope Valley Fair understands the importance of maintaining a safe and friendly environment, providing:
- A number of accessible parking options
- Courtesy rides from nearby parking lots and on the fairgrounds
- A range of disabled seating locations at all grandstand events
- A signing interpreter is on call during the fair, go to the nearest info booth or call (661)948-6060 for more information.
- Convenient outlets for recharging electric devices
- Livestock Preferred Parking Policy

Accessibility
Information regarding accommodations for persons
with disabilities is available at our Guest Services
Information Booth located near the main gate. You
may also refer to the map on the back page.
Cash Machines
There are five cash machine locations on the fairgrounds
that are mobility aid-accessible. They are near our main
gate under the J.P. Eliopulos Pavilion overhang.
Additional machines can also be found inside our
Satellite Wagering Facility, The Turf Club, year round.
Drinking Fountains
Guests using wheelchairs can find accessible drinking
fountains in the J.P. Eliopulos and Poppy buildings, at
the restroom foyer.
Electric Outlets
Electric outlets for recharging wheelchairs and other
necessary equipment are located on the East end of the
J.P. Eliopulos building near the main entrance.
Emergency Evacuations
In the event of an emergency, you may request assistance
from any Sheriff or Antelope Valley Fair Security who have
been trained in evacuation procedures. Emergency information will be announced by the Voice of the Fair.
Family Restrooms
Family restrooms are designated for families and guests with disabilities who require private accommodations or additional assistance. Family restrooms are available in the blue portables located throughout the grounds and in the Poppy & J.P. Eliopulos Pavilions as well as the Van Dam Legacy Hall and the Community Hall located in Heritage Park.
First Aid
A first aid facility is located near Gate 6. It is staffed by Antelope Ambulance. For proper disposal of sharps, a sharps container will be available in the First Aid area as well as in the restrooms of the Poppy & J.P. Eliopulos Pavilions and in the Van Dam Legacy Hall and Community Hall located in Heritage Park.
Gate Entrance
Metal detectors are in use at all gates. Advise gate personnel if you have a pacemaker. All items deemed to be a weapon or unsafe will be confiscated.

Grandstand Seating
When ordering tickets for those using mobility aids, either at the ticket window, by phone or through avfair.com, please request seating for the disabled. An attendant or family may accompany guests with disabilities. The accompanying attendant or group must also purchase a ticket to the grandstand show or event.
Information Booths
An InFAIRmation booth is located near the main gate. You'll find friendly attendants who will help you find whatever it is you’re looking for at the Fair. Guests needing assistance can always approach an event staff member or stop by the InFAIRmation booth where a number of services including Signing Interpreter Services, Daily Schedule Information, Lost & Found Items, Lost Children/ Adults, Wheelchairs and Stroller rentals can be found. Lay back & relax
The indoor patio on the south side of the J.P. Eliopulos Pavilion has a resting area for those who need to escape the busy Fair atmosphere for a few minutes. All ages of patrons with disabilities welcome.
Midway Rides
In accordance with ADA statutes, any physically or mentally challenged individual may ride any carnival ride, providing that the individual can enter and exit without the assistance of the ride operator.
Parking
Guests with a state disability placard or license plate may
park in the designated area in any parking lot on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular parking prices still apply. Please ask a parking attendant for availability upon entering the lot. All parking lots provide parking spaces for guests with disabilities.
Restrooms
Wheelchair accessible stalls built to accommodate those
using mobility aids are available throughout the Fairgrounds. They are marked with the universal disability symbol. Trash cans are available inside the wheelchair accessible stalls for your convenience.
Seating
The Antelope Valley Fair has designated seating in its
grandstand area specifically for guests with disabilities in each of the following categories on a first-come, first serve
basis: wheelchair accessible, semi-ambulant and transfer
seats, with accompanying companion seats available in
most cases. Ticket prices vary by event.
For groups of 25 or more that include guests with disabilities,

Ext. 230. Every effort will be made to provide seats
adjacent to any disabled seating locations for the entire
party attending the event.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome throughout the Fairgrounds.
No other animals are permitted on the Fairgrounds. A service animal relief area is located near the livestock area.
Shuttle
A drop-off and pick-up area is available at the main entrance for guests who need a courtesy ride to or from their car. Courtesy rides in the parking lots are provided to guests who are mobility impaired. Courtesy rides are not available on grounds as crowds will not permit moving traffic.
Sign Language Interpreters-Not yet Confirmed
A volunteer interpreter is available during the Fair. For this
service, visit the InFAIRmation Booth located near the main
gate.
Deaf Community Day: August 23, 2009 (Sign Language Interpreters will be available throughout the grounds)
Telephones
Pay phones are located at the South end of the Poppy Pavilion.
Tickets and Ticket Windows
Tickets for guests with disabilities can be purchased on site at the wheelchair accessible ticket window, located at the Main gate. Will Call windows are also accessible. Please identify your need for disabled seating at the time of purchase.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis
for a minimal daily charge near the front gate. A valid
driver’s license or other picture I.D. is required and will be
returned upon return of the item. Electric wheelchairs are
not available. Guests may also bring their own wheelchair,
both regular and electric are allowed. Wheelchair escorts to
and from seats are available upon request at any grandstands arena event.
A committee meets regularly to address services for disabled visitors, and regularly audits our buildings to inspect access.
